Video 44.6 Critical aortic stenosis
Critical aortic stenosis. Significantly abnormal 4-chambered view in the setting of critical aortic stenosis. Normal cardiac connections. The left ventricle (LV) is severely dilated and has very reduced systolic function. There is evidence of endocardial fibro-elastosis, particularly affecting the LV apex and papillary muscles. The aortic valve is thickened and poorly opening. The right ventricle, near the top of the image, has preserved systolic function.
