Video 21.25 Ventricular septal defect in a neonate
Ventricular septal defect in a neonate with an interrupted aortic arch visualized from an apical 4-chamber view tilted anteriorly (5-chamber view). The two-dimensional clips show a muscular outlet defect with posterior deviation of the infundibular septum and a narrowed left ventricular outflow tract. Color Doppler documented a left-to-right systolic shunt across the nonrestrictive ventricular septal defect and laminar flow across the left ventricular outflow tract.
