Short-axis sweep of the fetal heart from apex to base. Normal fetal heart at 19 weeks sweeping from cardiac apex to base, from left to right in a sagittal plane. The different morphology of the left and right ventricles is well seen and the mitral valve en face is shown. The tri leaflet aortic valve is shown in its short axis. The final image shows the aortic arch with three distinct head and neck vessels arising from it. These images were obtained using a 9 MHz transducer.
