Video 35.11 Transesophageal echocardiogram demonstrating systolic anterior motion of the mitral valve

Transesophageal echocardiogram demonstrating systolic anterior motion of the mitral valve. Left ventricular outflow tract view demonstrates significant septal hypertrophy with systolic anterior motion of the mitral valve. The aortic leaflets flutter in systole as a result of the turbulent flow. The distance from the aortic valve and precise site of mitral-septal contact can be appreciated. Maximal septal thickness can be measured to determine extent of myomectomy.
